#21. Visit a Psychic

                This afternoon, my dad and I went to a psychic fair that was in town. I have always been really curious about my fortune and all that. I am obsessed with my horoscope and it’s usually accurate. I also have these wild dreams and everyone I know thinks I’m absolutely crazy! Sometimes I think I’m clairvoyant or psychic or something!
                At this “Psychic Fair” I was drawn to a very humble Jamaican woman and she sat me down at a small table behind a screen and “read my vibrations” which I literally felt! I could feel her read me! It was such a strange experience. She spoke of my great grandmother and my recent past. She told me about physical and emotional pains I was going through. She also said that when she “first entered my vibrations it was like a rollercoaster” I couldn’t describe myself better haha!
                The thing that I found most interesting was that she said I was going to go through a change in the next three to four months. I wonder what this change will be. She said that it is a good change and I’ll be laughing about it. She also said that even though I’m not going anywhere right now I will be travelling a lot and this is only the beginning of my journey. I will be successful in anything I do.
                Overall the experience was really interesting. I was moved and encouraged by her readings. She said I was a very spiritual and sensitive person, I most definitely agree because I could feel her reading my vibrations. (That sounds odd but there is no other way to describe it!) Lots of fun and worth the money J

#72. Get Wisdom Teeth Removed

This morning my mother dropped me off at the dentist office and as soon as I arrived I was told to take two small yellow pills. Twenty minutes later I was escorted into the furthest room of the dentist office and q-tips covered in a red jelly were shoved in my mouth. After this freezing jelly, I was given eight needles in my gums to further freeze them. Then the dentist and dental technician worked their magic and pulled out all four of my wisdom teeth. Yes I was awake for the whole process. Yes it was painful. Yes the dentist had problems with my last tooth, had to stand over me and literally had to yank the sucker out of my gums. No I didn’t cry. No I didn’t keep my teeth (but I saw them – gross).
                Honestly I was super nervous going into the “surgery” but it really wasn’t that bad. Everyone I talked to had these horror stories but the worst thing about getting my wisdom teeth out was the swelling. It’s just about three days later and my cheeks are still a bit puffy. Yes, it’s hard to eat solid foods but there are lots of yummy foods I can eat: like ice cream!!! J
                My friends B and L picked me up from the dentist office and we all went to DQ for some ice cream. The swelling may have been better if I put ice on sooner but honestly I’m just glad those puppies are out! No more headaches!!
                I love my friends <3 It was a lot easier with their support!! Thanks girls!! <3

#52. Photo Booth

A fun thing to do that I’ve done only a couple of times is taking pictures in those photo booths at the mall. While E and I waited in Montreal for our bus back home we saw a photo booth and took some pictures in it. The photos came out really cute... and silly. It was a fun and spontaneous little bit. I had completely forgotten I put it on my Summer to Do List! J

#96. Visit K in Plattsburgh, NY

I just came home from a weekend of epic proportions. E and I took a road trip to Plattsburgh NY where our friend K plays hockey and goes to school. It was one wild weekend we’ll never forget! I have to tell it to you in three parts:
{part one}
Friday Night
We arrived in Plattsburgh just in time to get ready for dinner. After unpacking, freshening up, catching up and meeting some of K’s roommates, we all went out for dinner at KOTO, a Japanese restaurant where they cook the food on a large grill in front of you. It was a really cool and I’ve never experienced this type of dinning before!
Here’s a video of a “Onion Volcano!”
                                - sorry it’s a little shaky: there were sauces flying everywhere!

After dinner we went over to one of K’s friend’s house for an ‘after-dinner-slash-pre-bar’ party. We spent the evening playing Kings and getting to know each other. After a few hours a lot of people went out to the bars but E and I were so tired that K took us back to the dorms to sleep. We had a big day ahead and needed the rest!! E said that she only had a beer and a half and could drive us home. K and I on the other hand were NOT okay to drive. We spent a half hour making sure E was in an okay state to drive home, it was only a few blocks anyways.
The three of us got into K’s boyfriend’s car and headed back to the dorms. E drove and K and I sat on each other’s laps in the front passenger’s seat. E had been texting a guy at the party but wouldn’t let K see the messages. K got mad and reached over, turned the car off and took the keys out of the car. We were at a stop sign and the street was dead. This wouldn’t have been an issue but the cops were right around the corner and saw that the headlights went on and off and pulled us over as soon as we turned the corner. K quickly slithered into the back seat and we all sat looking straight in fear. The woman police officer approached the car and we were all thinking the same thing, but E was the only one who said it: K you know this is totally your fault right?...yep.
E is a terrible liar. Just... Ugh. I think it’s just because K and I have been doing this longer and E is more of a rule follower than we are. In a time like this pulling excuses out of your ass; lying through your teeth; whatever you want to call it, just do it! E didn’t. E is a terrible liar.
Police officer, “why did you turn your head lights off at the stop sign?” (I mean she didn’t even know the car had actually been turned off)
E, “uhh... umm... I... I don’t know...” (how about: I wanted to make sure they were on; this isn’t my car so I’m not used to the controls since I was trying to signal... ANYTHING BUT “I DONT KNOW!” you couldn’t sound anymore drunk!)
So obviously the police officer asks E to step out of the car, and it was really hard to hear everything but she did an eye test and a breathalyser test on E on the sidewalk. At first I was really scared for E but then K and I started making jokes – because that’s what we do when we’re uncomfortable/drunk – and we were cracking up and taking videos of the whole thing (sorry not putting that one up!)
Luckily E got off with a warning and the police officer said that if we went "straight home" we would be fine. We were off to the dorms once again. Only the fun didn't stop there... E was rattled, I'll give her that but still... come on:
K: go right just follow this one way street here. E goes left. THE SAME COP GOES RIGHT PULLS AROUND IN FRONT OF US TO CUT US OFF, SLOWLY GETS OUT OF HER CAR COMES RIGHT UP TO THE PASSENGERS SIDE WHERE I'M SITTING AND WHIPS OPEN THE DOOR! (my heart stopped for what felt like forever). "you girls are killin' me" she said "here, I forgot to give you your driver's licence back"
oh my god.

{part two}
SPRING FEST – The Naked Turtle
K invited us down to Plattsburgh on this specific weekend because it was going to be one of the biggest parties of the year: Spring Fest. One of her friends planned the whole event. It was an awesome day of drinking until we passed out and it started... well at breakfast. We all got SPRING FEST t-shirts which we cut up into different kinds of crop tops to make them our own. Then we drove downtown to the pier and went to a really awesome bar called The Naked Turtle. It had a cottagey-feel to it like a crazy log cabin on the lake with really cool signs and lights and a miniature motorcycle on the fireplace mantel. A couple bands that I didn’t recognize played and K’s roommate T got up on stage and danced with them. The whole time beer was everywhere! Everyone was spilling beer on my feet, down E’s back, in K’s hair! It was pretty gross but we were too drunk to care. Eventually everyone was kicked out of the bar because they had to set up for their dinner customers.
We called a cab and went back to the dorms to get some food from Tim Hortons. After our snacks E and I had a nap while K and her roommates did lord knows what! E and I passed out RIGHT away! Our nap felt like 20 minutes, but it was actually an hour before K woke us up to go get chips at the convenience store and then walk over to the hockey house for a party on fraternity row. The party was like a movie! The weather was really comfortable and everyone was sitting on the porch railing and other people were on the front lawn playing Frisbee and hanging out. The girls and I made our way inside to use the bathroom and grab a beer. We met a bunch of fun guys inside who made sure we were comfortable and always had a beer in hand.

{part three}
SPRING FEST – The... Something? Night Club
It was getting late and time to head to the bar so E, K, T and I walked downtown to a club, which the name I do not remember. Unfortunately we’re all underage in the United States so K got us fake ID’s, and as usual, something always goes wrong. The person who was supposed to pass back and ID for E was MIA so E went in underage. K got in fine with her fake but when it was my turn my first piece was expired, and my second piece wasn’t good enough. So I sweet talked my way into the club and they claimed I was underage but they didn’t charge me any cover. As soon as we all got in, E and I went to the washroom and scrubbed the “X’s” off our hands while K got us drinks. Since we were a part of the Spring Fest festivities we had open bar all night (beer only), but no one complained. A few of the guys bought us some shots and we had to chug all our drinks just in case a bouncer saw that we were underage. Half way through the evening we found Kristin upstairs in the VIP section of the club.
She motioned for us to come over and introduced us to the guy she was talking to. I can’t remember his name but he worked for a local radio station and they were promoting the club on their radio station. He and the club owner poured us all cups of cheap champagne, which we drank while they asked us to be on the radio and told us what to say! We had to say our names, the name of the club and the radio station. The only thing I remember from that is our names. Since the DJ guy didn’t want to find more girls to promote the club he just used us again and made us change our names. E and I became Mary-Kate and Ashley, and then Paris and Nicole. It’s funny because a lot of people think I look like Nicole Richie on a regular basis, and lots of K’s friends (especially the guys) were calling me that throughout the weekend. After drinking too much champagne we made our way down to the dance floor with the rest of the Plattsburgh crowd and continued our partying.
The rest of the night was reaaallly blurry but I remember it being a lot of fun! We danced and laughed and enjoyed it all. I remember a bouncer by the bathroom asking for my number and me just shooting him down... lol sorry bro. I don’t remember how we got back to the dorms but somehow I got into my pj’s and walked a flight of stairs shoeless. When I woke up B, a guy that was hitting on E the whole weekend had his arm around me in bed. HOLY MOSES! I was like “yo B...off. now.” And he mumbled something and turned over to cuddle with E. Eventually K and I woke up and went down for breaky while everyone else stayed in bed and slept. We bonded over food... lots of yummy food haha
Overall the weekend was a huge success! There was no drama – at least I don’t remember any :P and it was so nice to see K at school!! I can’t wait until she comes home for the summer!

#68. Road Trip

On Friday, my friend E and I took The MegaBus to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I’ve never been to Montreal, but I enjoyed the very little time I spent there. We got up bright and early and took The Red Rocket (subway) downtown to the bus station in Toronto. We arrived in good time and scored awesome seats at the back of the bus on the upper deck of the double-decker MegaBus. For the five hour 45 minute drive to Montreal E and I stretched out across the five seats in the back row. Sounds perfect right? Well almost! Unfortunately we sat behind four mildly obnoxious people. Nothing a good playlist and the new Cosmo couldn’t fix!
E and I went to Montreal because we were meeting our friend K there. K and her boyfriend K (...haha) were going to pick us up and the four of us would then drive two more hours to Plattsburgh, New York, where K and K go to school.
It was a really fun road trip! E and I want to do lots more this summer! And since we didn’t get to cross off #7. Party in Montreal, we’re going to have to make another five hour 45 minute ride haha!

#27. Gym Membership

Having a healthy lifestyle is very important to me. Luckily, I can use my school gym membership throughout the summer! I’ve researched a bunch of really fun and effective workouts to create my ultimate Summer Beach Body workout! I’ve convinced my good friend L to join my gym and we’re planning on biking to the gym instead of driving. It’s about a 7kms away from my house.
I’ll update this post bi-weekly to tell you which workouts I’ve done and how they’re going! J

#73. Hack Apart a Pair of Jeans

I do this almost every year. The “jeans” I chose are actually jeggings. I used scissors and a razor to create this masterpiece. It’s not my best work, but that’s because of the material... I still like them J

#22. Cross Bone Cupcakes

Earlier this year I came up with the idea of “Cross Bone Cupcakes”, my own cupcake company. My dad is the proud owner of a cafe and I also work for him. When I told him about my entrepreneurial ideas, he was very supportive and said I could sell the cupcakes at the cafe.
Yesterday was the first official day of Cross Bone Cupcakes. To be completely honest, I was extremely unprepared for the occasion. I didn’t have the proper tools to decorate the cupcakes, I didn’t market them, and the signage was mildly unprofessional. Like I said, I was unprepared. I displayed the cupcakes for a whole 24 hours. Business was slow and I only sold 1 cupcake of the 12 I made.
I’ve learned that when you want to start your own business you have to be completely dedicated to it. I am not ready to start my own business just yet, however I will continue with the brainstorming process J
Cross Bone Cupcakes!
