My Canada Day's never turn out the way I've wanted them to. This year I set some pretty low standards and I'm glad I did. Don't get me wrong, I am very proud to be Canadian! I think I am very blessed to live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I embrace my heritage and love that I have freedom. But some how every July 1st, something goes wrong.
This year things were looking up! I went to the park with L and S and we played some beach volley-ball! (cross that off the list). We stat by the water and caught up, tried to make plans for the evening to come.
Later that day L and I met up with K and we got dressed up with red flip flops, white pants, red tops, gold and red make up and we even bought some temporary tattoos of Canadian flags and little maple leaves. We took pictures, had a couple drinks, saw some fireworks and then went to the bar.
Here's where things started to turn around: the bar we went to was DEAD. I've never seen it so empty! This put us all in a sketched out mood. L wanted to go to her boy toy's house since he was leaving for the rest of the summer the next day. I was so exhausted from a week straight of partying and very little sleep. K was getting rattled because this was her only night off this weekend and she rarely gets to come out and party with us. In the end we all got in a fight and ended up going to our respected houses.
Looking back at the big picture it was a decent day/evening. It's too bad we didn't make plans ahead of time and that I didn't take a long enough nap that day.
LIVE AND LEARN :)
