#58. Enter into a Competition

Alright, so! This may or may not count, but my friend and I spent the past week trying to win tickets to see Lil' Wayne downtown, but failed miserably because we couldn't even get through to the radio station.
We tried! :)

#67. Day Long Detox

Because of all the Hot Yoga I've been doing this month, all this sweating has really been detoxing my body. One of the days during my yoga challenge, I decided to dedicate my practice to cleansing my body a.k.a. detoxing my body. Physically and more importantly mentally. I spent the class taking each one of my thoughts individually and cleansing all the things that were bothering me, one at a time. It was very helpful and allowed me to de-stress a little bit. I'm definitely going to try different detoxing practices in the future :)

#79. Write a Rap

Alright so. This is going to sound really lame but I'm a huge fan of Nicki Minaj and this summer she has inspired me to write raps of my own :P here is my latest rap, it's about my summer and stuff me and my friends got up to in our hometown:

UNTITLED Lyrics By: Little Monster
Grew up in a small city, big town?
See a bitty take her down, feel like I should get a crown
High school! those were the good old days, glad I burnt it down - wait let me rephrase!

Glad I killed it - I mean glad it's over!

Got detention for playing red rover
Wouldn't have made it out alive without my four leaf clover:
My girls! they're my lucky charms, no one can break the link of our arms
Speaking of arms, are we going to Kings?
Split a pitcher have some flings and things?

Speaking of flings, remember that time?
After too many shots of tequila and lime!
Ended up at a mansion with an empty pool

Drank champagne from the bottle, thought it was cool

We were just living in the moment, without a moment to lose
That night I ruined my new high heel shoes
But it was all worth it in the end
Memories forever of the time with my friends
Ya we looked hot, setting all of the trends
The following weekend, we do it all ova again

What else would we do? I haven't got a clue
Bitty I don't care, no one asked you!
Seriously bitch, get out of my face
Or I'll kick your ass into outer space
Stay in your place, don't make me put you there!
This little monster bites *BITE* now BEWARE!

Okay, okay, I'm over the game
I'm making my name
I live for the fame
The stars are where I am

I'm reminded of them with each step I take
I used to rake leaves for the money, now the money's what I rake
I don't give a f-ck if you think I'm fake
Cuz I do what I want for pete f-ckin sake!

And my wild heart can't be broken,
The wild monster inside of me has awoken,
So do as I say, the queen has spoken
And not as I do, or you'll be left chokin!

Listen up, I complete me!
And I will destroy what tries to defeat me!
Good luck trying to cheat me,
But if you love me, you can tweet me!!! :)

#53. Party in the Rain

I should have posted this months ago when It rained almost everyday at the beginning of my summer vacation. It kinda sucked, but I decided to go outside anyways. I put on some dorky blue rain boots and an over-sized raincoat and spent about half an hour jumping in puddles with my dog. haha so childish but it was actually a lot of fun, and better than sitting on my couch all day :P

#59. Start a Top Secret Club

Alright so, I thought about this long and hard... I wasn't sure how to post this. Basically, this past summer I've been taking a lot of time for myself, for personal reasons that I am not sharing with anyone because then this wouldn't be TOP SECRET! haha anyways I kind of made it a club, only 4 people actually know about it! sorrrryyyyyyy

#90. Sangria Party

SANGRIA!
I've never had it before, until this summer when my friends mom had her annual baseball party. Each year Mrs. M throws a baseball party for her team and K and I always sneak alcohol and food when all the ladies are drunk. (such trouble makers we were) Now that we're older, we make drinks for the ladies on the team and pass out the appetizers. The ladies love us cuz we're more fun then some of the other women on their team :P This year we made sangria for them and it was deeelliicccious! major buzz going on there, and eating the fruit is an added bonus! :) Check out our drink!!

#65. Party in HESS Village

Last year my friends and I partied in Hamilton almost every weekend. Ya, I know we're wild party animals :P This year we're all working a lot more and also travelling a lot more so we haven't really gone out to Hamilton as often. Since my friends go to school in Hamilton, they have a house not too far from Hess Village, a cobble stoned street of almost all bars/clubs. When we were all available we decided to go up for the night and party. A few of our guy friends had a house party the same night so we pre-drank there and then went out to the bars. This year we favoured Che, a hipster bar at the top of the street.
They play sweet music, and usually have events on Saturday nights. One of the nights we went, I met this really awesome and cute guy (we went on a hike: refer to #3 lol)! We went for three Saturdays in a row and the bouncer remembered me! (because I'm awesome and we high-fived cuz he kicked out a bunch of drunk bitties). Two of the nights we went my ex-boyfriend was there which was kind of a buzz kill. But whatever, I just ignored him lolol
Going out with my girls was tons of fun and we always have a good time together :)

#66. 20 Day Yoga Challenge

I have been practicing Yoga for about seven years. I LOVE IT! I'm hoping to be an instructor in the near future (maybe after I finish school). There is a new Hot Yoga studio in the area so my sister and I decided to do the 20 days for $20. I wanted to challenge myself and do Hot Yoga for 20 days straight. Each day I tried different classes, with different instructors and I learned a lot about myself and about the practice. I even bought a book about Chakras that one of the instructors recommended titled, Eastern Body Western Mind. So far I'm really liking the book!

I'm done the 20 days now, and doing some travelling, but once I settle back at home for school I'm going to do yoga regularly again. Each day I tweeted about the challenge. It was very rewarding.

#51. Freaks and Geeks Marathon

I recently discovered the 1999 show Freaks and Geeks. I don't know how I didn't know about this earlier, because I'm absolutely in love with James Franco, Jason Seagal, and Seth Rogan, who all star in this hilarious show. Unfortunately it got cancelled after one season *thumbs down* but I'm still a huge fan haha (BRING IT BACK! :P)
It took me about three days to watch the first season... I couldn't watch them all back to back because I have a job/ a life... :P

#89. Niagara Falls

My parents organized an overnight trip for the family to spend some quality time together. So we all drove down to Niagara-on-the-Lake and stayed in a hotel in Niagara Falls. We've been to the falls a number of times, but it was a nice little mini vacation with the fam. Not going to lie, I slept through most of the activities. I had been working A LOT that weekend and the day we left I opened at work (6:30AM), changed and then the family picked me up and we drove straight to Niagara-on-the-Lake where we did a bunch of touristy sight-seeing things. We ate at one of the oldest pubs in Canada, where they have amazing fish and chips! YUM YUM YUM!
Then we went to Niagara Falls and unpacked our stuff, that's when I crashed. My family was nice enough to let me sleep, while they went golfing, to museums, and other random activities in town. I woke up four hours later in an empty apartment and took the most relaxing shower. By the time I was all done, my family was on their way back to the hotel. When they got there I was all ready for a night of fun family quality time! But everyone was too tired to go out so we just watched a movie together.
The next morning we ate breakfast at this cheesy space themed diner. And then my brother, sister and I went on the famous sky wheel by the falls and we took silly videos while we were sight-seeing. Then we went to the big arcade and won some dinky prizes like a plastic Sheriff Badge haha oh man.

#98. Host a Dinner Party

A couple weeks ago my family hosted a BBQ dinner party for our family friends, who used to live across the street from us, but moved to another part of town because of the school their kids were going to. It was really good to see them, but it was a little strange since we're all a lot older now. Their oldest daughter has a three year old daughter! I remember when she used to babysit me haha The 'party' was a lot of fun and it was awesome to see them again!

#37. Picnic on a Jungle Gym

This was a very sad looking picnic lol it was more like "Snacks on a Jungle Gym" It was nice though. My sister and I bonded over some fruit salad and veggies when we took our dog for a walk in the park!
#sisterlylove haha

#24. Wasaga Beach

My family and I have been going to Wasaga Beach ever since I can remember. It is one of my favourite places in the whole world because of all the awesome memories I have from there. It's one of my life goals to own a cottage around that area, hopefully on the beach!
We try to go at least once a year. Last year I went with some friends, out of a spur of the moment type thing and it was a lot of fun. I am never disappointed when I go there :)

This year I went with my mom, grandma, sister and best friend K. We started off the day by relaxing on the sand, catching some rays and then me, K and my sister Y went shopping down the strip. We each got a pair of sunglasses and Y bought a really cute dress. Then me and K went to this bar above the shopping strip called Bananas. When were younger we always talked about how we were gonna come back to Wasaga to party when we were legal. Well now we're legal haha. We got nice and drunk, and they didn't even card us. (Isn't that always the case :P) Anyways, so I bought this really cute pair of shoes while I was drunk. Very expensive, but worth it cuz they're super hot.

It was such a fun day, next time I go I want to stay over night, like camping of something! :)

#50. Planking

HOKAY SO! earlier this summer there was this big trend called "planking" It's basically when you lie your body across something. It looks really goofy. Anyways, I needed a new picture for facebook and decided to make it a planking one. Check it out! haha:

#7. Party in Ottawa & #46. Glow in the Dark Putt Putt

I went to school in Ottawa for a year. While I was there I made some wonderful life-long friends that I wish I saw more of now. With our busy schedules it's difficult to all be in the same place at once. Especially in the summer because we all live around the country. So when my old roommate M called me to invite me to her new place in Ottawa for the weekend I was thrilled and booked my bus ticket right away!Within a week I was en route to visit some of my friends who were in Ottawa for the weekend. I took a red rocket (TO subway), grey hound (coach bus) and 2 city buses (in Ottawa) to get to M's apartment.

FRIDAY
As I unpacked I met, M's new roommate S and M's best friend from her hometown A. We all went out for dinner and got a little buzz off a drink called "Mama's Late Afternoon Lemonade" (from Montanas, reallly delicious!)
After dinner we got ready to go out downtown and then our friend from res, M came over to drink with us. It was so good to see him! He was like a big brother to me, back in school. We were always pranking each other and making up games and helping each other study for big midterms and exams. We played this game I've never played before called "Power Hour" to get drinking before the bars.
You go to the "Power Hour" website and start one of the playlists. Every time the song changes (which is every minute for an hour), you take a shot of beer. Let's just say I'm not a huge fan of this game, but it's effective. Finally we were all on a bus to downtown Ottawa to my absolute favourite bar called Pier 21!
We met my friend T there because it was his birthday. I don't know how we managed but we all had soooo many shots at the bar. It was a really fun night and they had a sweet band playing. The drummer and I were getting along well... one of M's friends dared me to grab the lead singers guitar, but it was out of my reach. Finally he came closer but by the time I could get to his guitar he had turned around, so I improvised and grabbed his butt! The crowd was lovin' it :P

SATURDAY (#46.)
After sleeping in for most of the morning M and I made breakfast and then her boyfriend B came over. I had heard so much about him and couldn't wait to meet him! He is a really down to earth, with a good sense of humour and a good head on his shoulders. He is studying to be a cop so he keeps M in line (hehe jk!!!). We all decided to go to Glow in the Dark Putt Putt. Obviously I didn't want to third wheel so I invited my "older brother" M to join us, we paired up and challenged each other. I almost got 2 hole-in-ones!!!!!!! so obviously me and M beet the love birds lol.  After the game the four of us when back to M's apartment and made kraft dinner.
I literally hadn't had KD since M and I lived together - 2 years ago!! It was yummy. M went home eventually and then me, B and M started drinking again while we watched the Jays game. (Another good thing about B: he's a Leaf and Jays fan - WOOO T.O.!!!) After getting a little buzzed we took like a million buses and a cab to get to this house party on the other side of town. We knew the guys who owned the house from school, and I hadn't seen them in 2 years.
They hadn't changed much: still goofy, trouble-makers. They throw sick parties too ;) One of the guys, R, had a dope drum set and taught me a few little tricks on it. I had never played drums in my life and people were complimenting me on my "skills" HA! (you know you're drunk when... :P)
We also played beer pong and my team lost cuz my partner wasn't very good, haha - OOHH WELL it was still a lot of fun :) Me, B and M ended up at Denny's eating breakfast at 4am and then went back to M's apartment.

SUNDAY
We basically slept in all morning. But considering we didn't get home until after 4, it wasn't really that long of sleep haha Anyways, my mom and grandma were dropping my sister off just outside of Ottawa so they offered to drive me back home, since they were in the area. They picked me up later that evening and I said by to M. I told her that next time she had to make a trip down to see me! :)
It was awesome that even after not seeing each other for two whole years we still got along famously, and basically picked up where we left off :)

I miss her already!

#17. Sparklers & Fireworks

On Canada Day my younger brother asked me to buy him and his friends fireworks. Obviously, being the most amazing big sister in the world, I bought them for him. Boys will be boys, right!? Anyways I told him he had to give us a roman candle or two in exchange for my time/service (everything is a business deal - just kidding). So while my friends and I were pre-drinking for our night out we decided to light some fireworks, and sparklers, they weren't amazing but we also watched some from my backyard. I've always admired fireworks lol

#60. Candy Kabobs

There is a very small plaza around the corner from my parents house. When we were kids, my brother, sister and I always met our friends and neighbours at the "corner store" to get candy and ice cream and my personal favourite: slushies!! We would all buy a bunch of candy and then play games together. Like road hockey, or man hunt, etc. One day I suggested we put all of our candy on a stick and eat it like a kabob.
As we grew up we went to the corner store less and less. Sometimes I walk over and get freezies or slushies still, but not so much candies anymore. I decided to relive my childhood a little and me and one of my best friends, L (who is also my neighbour) walked over and bought some cherry blasters, coke gummies and gummy worms and made candy kabobs.
They were delicious. :)

#3. Hiking

So last night I went on a "un-official date" with this really cute and amazing guy. We decided to go hiking at a Provincial Park not too far from my parents house. When we got to the Park we started off with following the trail down to the river. Then we tried to look for crayfish but didn't have any luck finding them. Eventually we hit the end of the stone path into the water.
We didn't want to go back on the same trail so we thought we'd go a little off course, but then we got stuck between a cliff and the water. Again, instead of going back from where we came we decided to be adventurous and climb UP the cliff! It was a verrrrrry steep climb but we managed to use vines and trees to scale it. We were nearly at the top of the cliff when my friend noticed a huge patch of poison ivy. We had actually climbed right in the middle of it!
Since he was wearing jeans, and I was wearing shorts, he climbed up past me and helped me up onto a very unstable log that was free from the poisonous plant. Then we jumped to a big tree that lead us to the top of the cliff. Not only had we reached the top, but we were on someones property who, by the "No Trespassing" signs, clearly did not want us there. We had to use a barbwire gate/fence to exit the property - luckily we didn't have to go back down that cliff! We ended up hiking through some fields after that.
We both had a lot of fun, and thankfully neither of us got poison ivy!!!

#88. Beach Volley Ball

I've always really like playing volley ball. I'm not very good at it but I think it's a fun sport. When my friends and I drove down to the lake I thought, o we should have brought a volley ball, because they have beach volley ball courts there. To my surprise S came prepared, and surprised us with a volley ball! We played for an hour or so and it was a really fun game. I need to work on my skills though! haha

One of the things I love about summer is the spontaneity of each day. That being said I think it's great to have a list of things you want to do, but when they just happen, like volley ball or ice cream sandwiches or even the photo booth, it makes it that much more fun and exciting.

#86. Get Dressed Up Head to Toe for Canada Day!

My Canada Day's never turn out the way I've wanted them to. This year I set some pretty low standards and I'm glad I did. Don't get me wrong, I am very proud to be Canadian! I think I am very blessed to live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I embrace my heritage and love that I have freedom. But some how every July 1st, something goes wrong.

This year things were looking up! I went to the park with L and S and we played some beach volley-ball! (cross that off the list). We stat by the water and caught up, tried to make plans for the evening to come.
Later that day L and I met up with K and we got dressed up with red flip flops, white pants, red tops, gold and red make up and we even bought some temporary tattoos of Canadian flags and little maple leaves. We took pictures, had a couple drinks, saw some fireworks and then went to the bar.

Here's where things started to turn around: the bar we went to was DEAD. I've never seen it so empty! This put us all in a sketched out mood. L wanted to go to her boy toy's house since he was leaving for the rest of the summer the next day. I was so exhausted from a week straight of partying and very little sleep. K was getting rattled because this was her only night off this weekend and she rarely gets to come out and party with us. In the end we all got in a fight and ended up going to our respected houses.

Looking back at the big picture it was a decent day/evening. It's too bad we didn't make plans ahead of time and that I didn't take a long enough nap that day.

LIVE AND LEARN :)

#48. BBQs

BBQs are one of the best parts about summer! Who doesn't love a nice hot dog or burger hot off the grill? Last summer I probably consumed my body weight in burgers - no lie.

This summer I think I've been to at least 5 BBQs! This past week we hosted one, I'm going to another one at my uncle's in a couple days, and next week we're having a BBQ for my sister's graduation party. SO MUCH GOOD FOOD!!!! #superpumped

It's important to remember that when you're having a BBQ, variety is key. People like different things:
You've got the simpler people who enjoy the classic hot dog or burger;
You may have the vegetarian who prefers the veggie shish kabob;
There's always the loud uncle or older cousin who demands the biggest steak;
And then there's the rando - who you don't even know how you're related - who "only eats fish or chicken"

You also have to have more than just juicy meat at your BBQ. You need different salads, drinks, desserts, that sort of thing.

Oh gotta go! Food's ready!

#39. Make Ice Cream Sandwiches

Ingredients
     1. Cookie Dough
     2. Ice Cream
     3. Sprinkles, or Chocolate Chips to Decorate

Last week I purchased the ingredients to make Ice Cream Sandwiches at home. Ice Cream Sandwiches are probably one of the greatest inventions of all time. Who ever thought: let’s make a sandwich out of the two most delicious desserts, is a genius! Anyways I bought the cookie dough and went over to my friend E’s house (she had the ice cream) and we thought that we’d taste the cookie dough before making the cookies. Well one bite led to another and the next thing you knowwww – there was no more cookie dough left.

TAKE TWO!
After work this week I came home and our family friends were over for a dinner party. After some very spectacular BBQ my mom brought out dessert which was an assortment of fruits and some cakes and YES! HOME MADE ICE CREAM SANDWICHES!  - AMAZING! Huge hit with the party! #welldonemom

#14. Concert(s)

GLEE

When a girl from worked asked me if I wanted to go to the Glee concert with her, I looked directly at her and said, very seriously, “You better not be joking.”
Thank goodness she wasn’t! The following week the two of us when to “Glee Live” at the ACC in Toronto! The show was awesome! And let me tell you, Puck is WAY HOTTER in real life! I sung to me... Well I was kind of far away but I pretended he was singing to me.
The whole cast is really talented! I can’t believe what amazing dancers Britney and Mike are! Just incredible!! I honestly got chills when Mercedes, Rachel and Kurt sang.
Love the show, loved the concert, I’m excited for a new season!

#19. Ride a [mechanical] Bull

L is one of my best and oldest friends! She is also the most hilarious person I know and when we’re together we spend a lot of our time laughing our heads off. So obviously, when the weekend comes around, we’re planning at least one wild night out!

Last night L and I took a mini road trip to Waterloo with two of our guy friends B and C to visit our other guy friends I and E so together we were: BLIVEC. Haha ANYWAYSSSS! We went downtown to a bar called Dallas. It’s a country bar and I had never been before. It was a pretty big bar and it got busy really fast, by the time we each got a drink the place was packed! BLIVEC was getting dir-tay on the dance floor and after a few songs L and I wondered off and found ourselves in the line for the mechanical bull!
The mechanical bull was on a huge stage in front of everyone! A nice guy in line behind me bought me a ticket to ride the bull and we made a bet of who could stay on the bull the longest. Turns out riding a bull is A LOT harder than it looks!!! I only lasted 30 seconds! Haha but it was so much fun! I was hammered out of my mind! I lost the bet but the guy still bought me the drink ;) L did better than me on the bull! I think she lasted 45 seconds!
Overall it was an awesome night! Everyone had a really good time J

Me riding the bull at DALLAS

#15. Drive-In

I LOVE THE DRIVE-IN! Packing the car full of pillows, blankets and snacks; competing for the best seat; getting to see more than one movie for super cheap; hanging out with friends; playing Frisbee, catch, soccer, etc. Before the movies star; the vintage commercials; EVERYTHING!!!!! SO FUN!!!
For our first Drive-In experience of the summer me and my friends decided on seeing X-MEN: First Class and Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides. Both movies were pretty well done. I wasn’t able to stay awake for the entire Pirates movie, but I understood the gist of it.
About half-way through the second movie, there was a HUGE thunder and lightning storm! It was hard to see the movie for a while with all the rain and a lot of people left for that reason. We didn’t! (but we probably should have!) Later, about 20 minutes before the movie was over, E’s car battery died and the car wouldn’t start!
We found some really nice people with a battery pack who helped us long after the movie was over, and thankfully the storm had cleared. It wasn’t until 3am when we got home and boy were we exhausted! I’m going to make a note to learn how to jump a car battery... perhaps item #101 on the Summer To Do List? Hahaha

#83. Rollerblading

I had the day off and decided I was going to cross off one of my list items. I chose to go rollerblading because the weather was perfect for it (sun was out, with a cool breeze). My friend K lives about 1km away from me and she wanted to hang out. I figured it was the perfect opportunity to rollerblade!

#56. Jump in the Pool with my Clothes On

It was one of the warmest days of my summer vacation yet and I had to work inside!! While I was working I made a promise to myself that I was going straight in the pool when I got home – literally!
When I got home I ran to the backyard where my sister was reading and I convinced her to jump in the pool with me... FULLY DRESSED!

#41. Bike Trip(s)

Today E and I went on our first bike ride of the season!!!

I don't even know where to begin. The trip was physically and emotionally overwhelming. We biked approximately 40km total. I think that if we tried it separately we might not have made it home.

First of all it was super windy out and during the last 10km it started raining! I mean a cold rain. A cold, prickly, forceful rain that pricked against my thighs as I pushed through the wind. For a moment I seriously considered tipping myself over onto the road where a bunch of construction workers were packing up for the day. But I was too close to home. I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I gave up when I was so close.

I was incredibly proud of E and I for making it a total of 40km with out giving up. I will remember this bike trip for ever and think of it when I need to motivate myself.

After this bike ride I feel like I can do anything!

#21. Visit a Psychic

This afternoon, my dad and I went to a psychic fair that was in town. I have always been really curious about my fortune and all that. I am obsessed with my horoscope and it’s usually accurate. I also have these wild dreams and everyone I know thinks I’m absolutely crazy! Sometimes I think I’m clairvoyant or psychic or something!
At this “Psychic Fair” I was drawn to a very humble Jamaican woman and she sat me down at a small table behind a screen and “read my vibrations” which I literally felt! I could feel her read me! It was such a strange experience. She spoke of my great grandmother and my recent past. She told me about physical and emotional pains I was going through. She also said that when she “first entered my vibrations it was like a rollercoaster” I couldn’t describe myself better haha!
The thing that I found most interesting was that she said I was going to go through a change in the next three to four months. I wonder what this change will be. She said that it is a good change and I’ll be laughing about it. She also said that even though I’m not going anywhere right now I will be travelling a lot and this is only the beginning of my journey. I will be successful in anything I do.
Overall the experience was really interesting. I was moved and encouraged by her readings. She said I was a very spiritual and sensitive person, I most definitely agree because I could feel her reading my vibrations. (That sounds odd but there is no other way to describe it!) Lots of fun and worth the money J

#72. Get Wisdom Teeth Removed

This morning my mother dropped me off at the dentist office and as soon as I arrived I was told to take two small yellow pills. Twenty minutes later I was escorted into the furthest room of the dentist office and q-tips covered in a red jelly were shoved in my mouth. After this freezing jelly, I was given eight needles in my gums to further freeze them. Then the dentist and dental technician worked their magic and pulled out all four of my wisdom teeth. Yes I was awake for the whole process. Yes it was painful. Yes the dentist had problems with my last tooth, had to stand over me and literally had to yank the sucker out of my gums. No I didn’t cry. No I didn’t keep my teeth (but I saw them – gross).
Honestly I was super nervous going into the “surgery” but it really wasn’t that bad. Everyone I talked to had these horror stories but the worst thing about getting my wisdom teeth out was the swelling. It’s just about three days later and my cheeks are still a bit puffy. Yes, it’s hard to eat solid foods but there are lots of yummy foods I can eat: like ice cream!!! J
My friends B and L picked me up from the dentist office and we all went to DQ for some ice cream. The swelling may have been better if I put ice on sooner but honestly I’m just glad those puppies are out! No more headaches!!
I love my friends <3 It was a lot easier with their support!! Thanks girls!! <3

#52. Photo Booth

A fun thing to do that I’ve done only a couple of times is taking pictures in those photo booths at the mall. While E and I waited in Montreal for our bus back home we saw a photo booth and took some pictures in it. The photos came out really cute... and silly. It was a fun and spontaneous little bit. I had completely forgotten I put it on my Summer to Do List! J

#96. Visit K in Plattsburgh, NY

I just came home from a weekend of epic proportions. E and I took a road trip to Plattsburgh NY where our friend K plays hockey and goes to school. It was one wild weekend we’ll never forget! I have to tell it to you in three parts:
{part one}
Friday Night
We arrived in Plattsburgh just in time to get ready for dinner. After unpacking, freshening up, catching up and meeting some of K’s roommates, we all went out for dinner at KOTO, a Japanese restaurant where they cook the food on a large grill in front of you. It was a really cool and I’ve never experienced this type of dinning before!
Here’s a video of a “Onion Volcano!”
                                - sorry it’s a little shaky: there were sauces flying everywhere!

After dinner we went over to one of K’s friend’s house for an ‘after-dinner-slash-pre-bar’ party. We spent the evening playing Kings and getting to know each other. After a few hours a lot of people went out to the bars but E and I were so tired that K took us back to the dorms to sleep. We had a big day ahead and needed the rest!! E said that she only had a beer and a half and could drive us home. K and I on the other hand were NOT okay to drive. We spent a half hour making sure E was in an okay state to drive home, it was only a few blocks anyways.
The three of us got into K’s boyfriend’s car and headed back to the dorms. E drove and K and I sat on each other’s laps in the front passenger’s seat. E had been texting a guy at the party but wouldn’t let K see the messages. K got mad and reached over, turned the car off and took the keys out of the car. We were at a stop sign and the street was dead. This wouldn’t have been an issue but the cops were right around the corner and saw that the headlights went on and off and pulled us over as soon as we turned the corner. K quickly slithered into the back seat and we all sat looking straight in fear. The woman police officer approached the car and we were all thinking the same thing, but E was the only one who said it: K you know this is totally your fault right?...yep.
E is a terrible liar. Just... Ugh. I think it’s just because K and I have been doing this longer and E is more of a rule follower than we are. In a time like this pulling excuses out of your ass; lying through your teeth; whatever you want to call it, just do it! E didn’t. E is a terrible liar.
Police officer, “why did you turn your head lights off at the stop sign?” (I mean she didn’t even know the car had actually been turned off)
E, “uhh... umm... I... I don’t know...” (how about: I wanted to make sure they were on; this isn’t my car so I’m not used to the controls since I was trying to signal... ANYTHING BUT “I DONT KNOW!” you couldn’t sound anymore drunk!)
So obviously the police officer asks E to step out of the car, and it was really hard to hear everything but she did an eye test and a breathalyser test on E on the sidewalk. At first I was really scared for E but then K and I started making jokes – because that’s what we do when we’re uncomfortable/drunk – and we were cracking up and taking videos of the whole thing (sorry not putting that one up!)
Luckily E got off with a warning and the police officer said that if we went "straight home" we would be fine. We were off to the dorms once again. Only the fun didn't stop there... E was rattled, I'll give her that but still... come on:
K: go right just follow this one way street here. E goes left. THE SAME COP GOES RIGHT PULLS AROUND IN FRONT OF US TO CUT US OFF, SLOWLY GETS OUT OF HER CAR COMES RIGHT UP TO THE PASSENGERS SIDE WHERE I'M SITTING AND WHIPS OPEN THE DOOR! (my heart stopped for what felt like forever). "you girls are killin' me" she said "here, I forgot to give you your driver's licence back"
oh my god.

SPRING FEST – The Naked Turtle
K invited us down to Plattsburgh on this specific weekend because it was going to be one of the biggest parties of the year: Spring Fest. One of her friends planned the whole event. It was an awesome day of drinking until we passed out and it started... well at breakfast. We all got SPRING FEST t-shirts which we cut up into different kinds of crop tops to make them our own. Then we drove downtown to the pier and went to a really awesome bar called The Naked Turtle. It had a cottagey-feel to it like a crazy log cabin on the lake with really cool signs and lights and a miniature motorcycle on the fireplace mantel. A couple bands that I didn’t recognize played and K’s roommate T got up on stage and danced with them. The whole time beer was everywhere! Everyone was spilling beer on my feet, down E’s back, in K’s hair! It was pretty gross but we were too drunk to care. Eventually everyone was kicked out of the bar because they had to set up for their dinner customers.
We called a cab and went back to the dorms to get some food from Tim Hortons. After our snacks E and I had a nap while K and her roommates did lord knows what! E and I passed out RIGHT away! Our nap felt like 20 minutes, but it was actually an hour before K woke us up to go get chips at the convenience store and then walk over to the hockey house for a party on fraternity row. The party was like a movie! The weather was really comfortable and everyone was sitting on the porch railing and other people were on the front lawn playing Frisbee and hanging out. The girls and I made our way inside to use the bathroom and grab a beer. We met a bunch of fun guys inside who made sure we were comfortable and always had a beer in hand.

{part three}
SPRING FEST – The... Something? Night Club
It was getting late and time to head to the bar so E, K, T and I walked downtown to a club, which the name I do not remember. Unfortunately we’re all underage in the United States so K got us fake ID’s, and as usual, something always goes wrong. The person who was supposed to pass back and ID for E was MIA so E went in underage. K got in fine with her fake but when it was my turn my first piece was expired, and my second piece wasn’t good enough. So I sweet talked my way into the club and they claimed I was underage but they didn’t charge me any cover. As soon as we all got in, E and I went to the washroom and scrubbed the “X’s” off our hands while K got us drinks. Since we were a part of the Spring Fest festivities we had open bar all night (beer only), but no one complained. A few of the guys bought us some shots and we had to chug all our drinks just in case a bouncer saw that we were underage. Half way through the evening we found Kristin upstairs in the VIP section of the club.
She motioned for us to come over and introduced us to the guy she was talking to. I can’t remember his name but he worked for a local radio station and they were promoting the club on their radio station. He and the club owner poured us all cups of cheap champagne, which we drank while they asked us to be on the radio and told us what to say! We had to say our names, the name of the club and the radio station. The only thing I remember from that is our names. Since the DJ guy didn’t want to find more girls to promote the club he just used us again and made us change our names. E and I became Mary-Kate and Ashley, and then Paris and Nicole. It’s funny because a lot of people think I look like Nicole Richie on a regular basis, and lots of K’s friends (especially the guys) were calling me that throughout the weekend. After drinking too much champagne we made our way down to the dance floor with the rest of the Plattsburgh crowd and continued our partying.
The rest of the night was reaaallly blurry but I remember it being a lot of fun! We danced and laughed and enjoyed it all. I remember a bouncer by the bathroom asking for my number and me just shooting him down... lol sorry bro. I don’t remember how we got back to the dorms but somehow I got into my pj’s and walked a flight of stairs shoeless. When I woke up B, a guy that was hitting on E the whole weekend had his arm around me in bed. HOLY MOSES! I was like “yo B...off. now.” And he mumbled something and turned over to cuddle with E. Eventually K and I woke up and went down for breaky while everyone else stayed in bed and slept. We bonded over food... lots of yummy food haha
Overall the weekend was a huge success! There was no drama – at least I don’t remember any :P and it was so nice to see K at school!! I can’t wait until she comes home for the summer!

#68. Road Trip

On Friday, my friend E and I took The MegaBus to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I’ve never been to Montreal, but I enjoyed the very little time I spent there. We got up bright and early and took The Red Rocket (subway) downtown to the bus station in Toronto. We arrived in good time and scored awesome seats at the back of the bus on the upper deck of the double-decker MegaBus. For the five hour 45 minute drive to Montreal E and I stretched out across the five seats in the back row. Sounds perfect right? Well almost! Unfortunately we sat behind four mildly obnoxious people. Nothing a good playlist and the new Cosmo couldn’t fix!
E and I went to Montreal because we were meeting our friend K there. K and her boyfriend K (...haha) were going to pick us up and the four of us would then drive two more hours to Plattsburgh, New York, where K and K go to school.
It was a really fun road trip! E and I want to do lots more this summer! And since we didn’t get to cross off #7. Party in Montreal, we’re going to have to make another five hour 45 minute ride haha!

#27. Gym Membership

Having a healthy lifestyle is very important to me. Luckily, I can use my school gym membership throughout the summer! I’ve researched a bunch of really fun and effective workouts to create my ultimate Summer Beach Body workout! I’ve convinced my good friend L to join my gym and we’re planning on biking to the gym instead of driving. It’s about a 7kms away from my house.
I’ll update this post bi-weekly to tell you which workouts I’ve done and how they’re going! J

#73. Hack Apart a Pair of Jeans

I do this almost every year. The “jeans” I chose are actually jeggings. I used scissors and a razor to create this masterpiece. It’s not my best work, but that’s because of the material... I still like them J

#22. Cross Bone Cupcakes

Earlier this year I came up with the idea of “Cross Bone Cupcakes”, my own cupcake company. My dad is the proud owner of a cafe and I also work for him. When I told him about my entrepreneurial ideas, he was very supportive and said I could sell the cupcakes at the cafe.
Yesterday was the first official day of Cross Bone Cupcakes. To be completely honest, I was extremely unprepared for the occasion. I didn’t have the proper tools to decorate the cupcakes, I didn’t market them, and the signage was mildly unprofessional. Like I said, I was unprepared. I displayed the cupcakes for a whole 24 hours. Business was slow and I only sold 1 cupcake of the 12 I made.
I’ve learned that when you want to start your own business you have to be completely dedicated to it. I am not ready to start my own business just yet, however I will continue with the brainstorming process J

#2. Toronto Blue Jays Game

Take me out to the ball game! Take me out to the crowd! Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack. I don’t care if I never get back. Let me root, root, root for the Blue Jays! If they don’t win, it’s a shame. For it’s 1-2-3 strikes you’re out at the old ball game!
I haven’t been to a Blue Jays game in ages! Baseball isn’t my favourite sport, but drinking might be! ;) just kidding haha
Today my friends and I went to cheer on The Jays and enjoy a few brewskis. Our group always has a good time together!
After the game we got the best tasting pizza I've ever had! yum yum yum!

I can't live a day without my friends xx
